This policy is a working draft prepared to reflect how The Den Mentorship operates. It is not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by qualified counsel — particularly the sections on minors, SMS consent, and payment processing — before publishing.
The Den Mentorship is a youth mentorship and rewards program operated by Team Pursuit(“Team Pursuit,” “we,” “us”), based in Detroit, Michigan. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the The Den Mentorship mobile apps and admin dashboard (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
For mentors (Community Wellness Advocates), we also collect application information such as your role, references, and the responses you provide during review.
The Den Mentorship is designed for young people, many of whom are minors. We collect only the information needed to run the program and pay participants.
Where required by law, enrollment of a minor is facilitated through a partner school or program and accompanied by appropriate parent or guardian consent. A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information by contacting us at the address below.
Obligations under COPPA, FERPA (for school partners), and Michigan state law depend on participant ages and how enrollment is handled. Confirm the consent flow with counsel.
We use your mobile phone number to send one-time passcodes (OTPs) for account signup and login verification. Message frequency varies depending on your account activity, such as login attempts and account access requests. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile number and SMS opt-in data are used solely to provide the Service and are never shared or sold to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP; for help, reply HELP or contact us at tech@teampursuit.org.
Points you earn convert to funds that we pay out approximately twice per month through third-party services (Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal). We share only the information those services need to deliver your payout. We do not store full financial account numbers. Payout caps and point values are set by Team Pursuit and may change.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
Your wellness pulse answers and reflections are sensitive. They are visible to you, your assigned advocate, and authorized Team Pursuit staff for the purpose of supporting your well-being. They are not used for advertising and are not shared publicly. If a response suggests you may be at risk of harm, staff may act to help keep you safe.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to run the program, meet legal and financial obligations, and resolve disputes. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit access to those who need it and to protect data in transit and at rest.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by SMS. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent version.
